New concerns have arisen about Mike Tyson’s ability to participate following his recent health incident.
A boxing legend has stepped forward, offering to replace Mike Tyson against Jake Paul if Tyson is unable to compete due to his ‘medical emergency’.
Tyson experienced a flare-up of an ulcer during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on Sunday, necessitating immediate medical attention.
He felt nauseous and dizzy and received treatment on the plane.
His representatives stated: “Thankfully, Mr. Tyson is recovering well. He experienced nausea and dizziness from an ulcer flare-up shortly before landing. He is grateful to the medical staff who assisted him.”
‘Iron’ Mike’s comeback fight may be called off if he does not pass a series of pre-fight tests administered by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
If Tyson is forced to withdraw from the fight with Paul, Most Valuable Promotions has a former world champion ‘on standby’.
Ryan Garcia has also expressed interest, saying he will step in for the 57-year-old if he cannot fight Paul on July 20.
On social media, he wrote: “If Mike can’t fight, I’ll step in.”

In another post, he added: “I want to fight Jake Paul for fun even though he’s my brother.”
Garcia recently shocked Devin Haney in an electrifying match last month.
However, the outcome could be contested after he failed an anti-doping test.
The 25-year-old, who maintains his innocence, tested positive for ostarine in both his A and B samples.
He holds a professional record of 25-1, having defeated fighters like Luke Campbell, Javier Fortuna, and Oscar Duarte, with Gervonta Davis being his only defeat.
As for Tyson, his representatives assure he is ‘doing well’ as he prepares to return to the ring this summer.
Regarding the health incident, a source mentioned: “Mike experienced a medical emergency on the plane, and paramedics were called on board.
“Before the paramedics arrived, the flight made an announcement asking for a doctor – the message even appeared on all passengers’ screens.”
